Closing time

A week or two ago, someone shared that video on their Facebook page, and it's been stuck in my head ever since.  Who knew it had such a sweet meaning behind it, completely unrelated to bar-hopping?

Closing time....open all the doors and let you out into the world
Closing time...you don't have to go home but you can't stay here
Closing time...time for you to go out to the places you will be from
Closing time...every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end

Closing time has come for this blog.  While it has been the place for many of our family's rejoicings and my personal musings, in my mind it has more become a representation of the season of our life characterized by painful adoption drama.  I'll be leaving the blog up, not only for our own memories but also in the event that someone finds it in the midst of their own trauma and needs a friend who understands.  But...

The Dots are moving onward.

So today, on the third anniversary of Anansi's Gotcha Day (and how ironic that, last year when we went out as a family to his favorite restaurant to commemorate the occasion, he begged us to never celebrate it again), we write the epilogue to the book and move on to new adventures.

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end...
