As far as adoptions go, I don't think I've ever seen one go 100% smoothly. There's always some crisis, some delay, some disappointment, and sometimes even lies, ethical concerns, betrayals. We've certainly been through our share.
This week, my friend A.B. became a mother to two (older) girls - after going through her own delays, disappointments, trials, and losses; she knows the grief of almost having a son, and then....not.
But this week, after some nail-biting moments over the past few months....she and her husband arrived home. With THEIR girls.
I'm so grateful for that today - and I'm looking forward to being a listening ear she can turn to now that the real work is beginning. :)
